Unable to create a developer account

Unable to create a developer account

Postby Paul VanAlten » Wed Mar 24, 2010 3:31 pm

Blue mars is really hard to start it explore. Ive tried several times to fill the needed fields to complete my registration.
Ive readed so many things about this game but never have seen it with my own eyes before, so i want FINALLY TO EXPLORE IT. ;) :)

A few questions about what it believes to pass the developer registration;
    1. Password: I have still a orange star when i hit the submit button at the password sections. I changed them often to pass the registration
    2. Company: Whatelse i have to fill in this section even when i dont want to use a "company name"? I have still orange stars there, also when i typed in a name
    3. User ID; whatelse is needed to fill this section? a5e4f5a4fra854er85fae64 per example?
    4. Avatar names: Ive tried to fill the avatar name with male and female names and have still a orange star.

Its needed or not to go inworld to explore BM? Why is that not selfexplanating and so complicate? A small bubble right from the clicked field who shows tips whats to do, would be very helpful. 8-)

Hi Paul, if you already have a user account, you need a different email for a developer account I think.

Make sure you have a current version of Adobe Flash installed, since many of the web and user software use it.

Paul,

You're absolutely right about having a "tips" button. I will make sure that goes through to Trent, our VP of design. Thank you for the suggestion!

As far as creating a developer account, you will need to use a different email account as Daniel suggested.

To answer your questions:
For 1: If you have too many characters or are using the following characters "!@#$%^&*()_+<>?,./" <-- these wont be accepted
For 2: You can change your Company info after you've registered. The only thing you cannot change is Company Code
For 3: "a5e4f5a4fra854er85fae64" will not be accepted because of the amount of characters. Please use something else for your User ID
For 4: Again, if you are using something like "a5e4f5a4fra854er85fae64" it will not be accepted

I apologize for all the trouble you are having in trying to create an account. If you are still unable to register as a developer please create a support ticket using the following link: http://dev.bluemars.com/helpdesk/WebObjects/Helpdesk

You may reference this post in your problem description.

Please let us know if you are having anymore trouble Paul!

Hi Paul,

I may have misunderstood your request. Questions 3 & 4 are specific to our beta client. Your User ID and avatar names can be the same, or they can be completely different. They're your own unique creations, but please try to keep the character count to a minimum. If you don't fill in the Avatar names, "Nil Nil" will appear over the avatar's head in game. Please just fill it in for now with something short. You'll be able to change your Avatar Name later from the User's MyPage here:
http://bluemars.com/signin.html

Developer Registration
The User ID fields and Avatar Names are not fields in the developer registration page if you chose "YES I have a Blue Mars Player Account" . Please see attached image YESIhaveanaccount. If you Choose "YES I have a Blue Mars Player Account" then you will see the log in screen in the attached image.

If you chose "NO I don't have a Blue Mars Player account" then you will need to fill in the information. See images P0,P1 & P2.
After filling in P0, you need to check your email and then click on the link to activate the account.
The link will take you to a page that looks like P1, then you will proceed to P2.

Wait a few minutes and then log in to the Developer's MyPage here: https://dev.bluemars.com/MyPage/Develop ... ogin.html#
Use the email and password you created on P0 and P1 to log in and get our tools and plug ins.

If you are still having trouble, please send in a HelpDesk ticket.

Back to topic: i maded it different; i put in a name in the company field and dont put in the names in the avatar name fields and it worked!

Perhhaps you make this thread sticky so that others can inform here before ask the same questions.
Have a nice sunday
