Issues Importing DAE Geometries

Issues Importing DAE Geometries

Postby srmaddox » Thu Jun 24, 2010 9:02 am

I've tried exporting from Maya & Lightwave, and I can import between the two no problem, all the geometry appears exported to the DAE files.
However, when loading any of the editors, importing a DAE/COLLADA file, converting it then loading the GCF via the dialog, I always get no geometry. Its just a blank bounding box. I've ensured that UVs exist for every surface, painted them all with a single texture, etc., and I still can get any geometry imported.

You might want to post all dev questions and concerns in the dev forums.

it may be the case that you get materials that are 100% transparent (or, 0% opaque). To check that, load the .CGF to Item Editor, select the bounding box and hit 'm' to bring up Material editor. Navigate to your object and check the opacity values. Set to 100%, check if the object becomes visible in the editor. If that fails, post to dev. forum as Davy suggested, please give as much detail as possible, or, better yet, attach the collada file in question. Good luck!
